Never Before

Written years ago when I first moved to Sydney and shared a house with 3 young ladies, this is probably the first genuine “love song” I wrote. Fortunately it was mutual. I was stuck in an insecure shell at the time, but this lady managed to “break through my high fort defences”. I really like the middle 8 (after the second chorus) that turns the song eloquently from the key of G to C. That’s quite a big key change, but the chord structure allowed it to work out okay. – Stevie J
